Resources for AMSEA-trained instructors.

Report Training

To help us monitor the effectiveness of our programs, we request that you furnish AMSEA with information after the completion of each cold water safety course, workshop or seminar you teach. AMSEA also uses the information for quarterly activity reports, funding proposals, and program justification. Thank you.

Products for Loan

To borrow training equipment from AMSEA for teaching a course, click here. Note: Equipment is only available for loan to AMSEA-trained instructors!

To borrow videos from the AMSEA library, click here.

To borrow a display for use at a conference or other event, click here. AMSEA displays are available for loan for events like health and safety fairs and conferences.

Forms Needed for Teaching Some Courses

pdf_icon Sample Assumption of Risk and Release Form Must be completed by all students in courses taught by instructors working for AMSEA in any capacity - as employees, contract instructors, or volunteers. Completed forms should be submitted to AMSEA.

Assumption of risk and release forms are strongly recommended to all instructors.

pdf_icon Drill Conductor Course Skills Checklist (Print landscape). Must be completed and returned to AMSEA whenever Drill Conductor courses are provided.

pdf_icon AMSEA Course Roster (Print landscape). Must be completed and returned to AMSEA whenever the following courses are taught: Drill Conductor or Drill Conductor Refresher courses, Marine Safety Instructor Training, workshops for schoolteachers and other youth educators.

AMSEA does not require rosters for other types of training. All other training should be reported using a Course Reporting Form, below.

Other Resources

Instructors who teach AMSEA Drill Conductor courses issue the students who successfully complete those courses a Drills Card that serves as proof of compliance with USCG training requirements for fishing vessels that fish outside the Boundary Line. The cards currently are valid in perpetuity.

Your former students who lose their Drills Cards may be directed to AMSEA for replacements. See our Drills Card page for additional information.
