Be sure to bring the following :

• Personal survival kit that fits inside a closed, pint-sized Zip-Loc Baggie. Page B-15 of AMSEA'sMarine Safety Instructor Manual lists possible personal survival kit contents. You can put your own together, or you can buy a prepackaged one from AMSEA when you get to class. See theAMSEA Store for information about what is in that kit.

• If you own an immersion suit, please bring it with you. If not, AMSEA will loan you one.

• An set of clothes to wear in the water during the pool activity. Choose clothes like those you would normally wear when you are out on the water. No need to get shoes/boots wet in the pool, however.

• Warm clothing for outside activities. Bring wool, polypropylene or other material that will keep you warm when you get wet. Think layered. Also a good set of raingear and waterproof boots.

• Your copy of the AMSEAMarine Safety Instruction Manual if it was sent to you. The manual will be given to some on the first morning of class.

• ENTHUSIASM! The class is a great opportunity to meet new people interested in cold water safety and survival and to share information about marine safety.

• Payment for university credit. If you wish to take this course for credit, up to 3 postgraduate level college credits are available for $75 extra. You must complete additional requirements for credit. Registration forms will be available the first day of class.
