Free F/V Drill Conductor Workshop in Anchorage

Jeff Pearson

AMSEA will be conducting a Fishing Vessel Drill Conductor Workshop in Anchorage on May 6 & 7. Like all of our F/V Drill Conductor workshops, the two-day course meets the U.S. Coast Guard training requirements for drill conductors on commercial fishing vessels...and it's free to commercial fishermen! That's all thanks to support form the Coast Guard, the Alaska Department of Commerce, Community, and Economic Development (DCCED), and the National Institute of Occupational Safety & Health (NIOSH).

Now, with more fishermen living in Anchorage than in any other Alaska municipality, you would think that filling a workshop there is a slam dunk. Not so.

As with any larger city, there's so much going on that if you don't have a big advertising budget, it's difficult for your message to get noticed. Our budget for advertising classes is zip...nada...nonexistent.

That's where you come in. Will you let your fishing friends know about this workshop? They'll get trained in skills that will help them to manage emergencies at sea and you'll know that you have helped to give them a fighting chance. They can get more information about the class and register by clicking here.

We've cancelled more Drill Conductor workshops in Anchorage than we've ever been able to hold, but we keep trying. Thanks for helping to get the word out!
