Help save lives at sea. Become an AMSEA member!

Jeff Pearson

As you enjoy this holiday season and prepare for the new year, we encourage you to renew your AMSEA membership or become a new member. Your membership contribution helps to save lives at sea by helping us keep effective marine safety training, affordable and available to commercial fishermen and other mariners.

Since 1985, more than 130,000 mariners have received AMSEA training. Many are commercial fishermen who have received training at reduced cost or no cost. Your membership support demonstrates to our funders that marine safety training is valued.

Our newest training grant requires that we provide a 50% match for the funds received. Your memberships contribution helps us to meet the matching requirement and pays it forward for the next skipper or deckhand.

When you become an AMSEA member, you’ll be in good company. Check out our membership page to see else has joined. When you’re done with that, head over to our secure, online membership form and become an AMSEA member at a level that makes sense to you. Your membership contribution is tax deductible and we even have a couple of thank you gifts to choose from for membership contribution of $100 or more.

Between 2000 and 2015, annual commercial fishing fatalities in the U.S. were reduced by 39%. We’re proud to be part of the effort that has improved safety for American fishermen. We know that AMSEA training helps save lives, because the people we’ve trained tell us. To read what they have to say, visit our testimonials page.

So, that’s the pitch. We hope you will join us by renewing your membership or becoming a new AMSEA member. We wish you the happiest of holidays and hope that your 2020 is safe and productive.
