Upcoming FISHSAC Meeting

Notice of the upcoming Federal Advisory Committee meeting. The National Commercial Fishing Safety Advisory Committee will meet on Tuesday, September 26 through September 28 in Seattle, WA. The FISHSAC meeting will cover topics relating to reducing casualties and fatalities in the commercial fishing industry.


Dates of the meeting:

September 26, 9 am-5 pm

September 27, 8 am-5 pm

September 28, 8 am-5 pm

The advisory committee provides advice and recommendations to the USCG on subjects pertaining to:

  • Navigation safety.

  • Safety equipment and procedures.

  • Marine insurance.

  • Vessel design, construction, maintenance, and operation.

  • Personnel qualifications and training.

The FISHSAC recommendations advise the Secretary of Homeland Security through the Commandant of the USCG.

Public comments for the FISHSAC committee will be accepted at any time, including orally at the meeting; however, written comments must be submitted through the Federal eRulemaking Portal at http://www.regulations.gov no later than September 20, 2023, for review.
